Among the many advantages of Dholera are its state-of-the-art, smart, and sustainable infrastructure facilities. Its world class infrastructure is benchmarked against best practices. The city stands out as the first in India where all underground utilities, including gas, power, potable water, recycled water, sewage pipes and storm water, have been preplanned to ensure whole-person development, and are capable of meeting the city’s growing needs.
Efforts have been made at Dholera Industrial City to streamline the relationship between government and business through the use of a single window system. As a result, various aspects of the business will require fewer procedures and approvals.
As part of Dholera’s design, facilities have been provided to accommodate the health, safety, educational needs, entertainment needs, cultural and spiritual needs of residents, and they have been strategically located to facilitate safe and easy access.
It’s got everything from neighborhood markets to hawker zones, dispensaries to emergency services, petrol pumps to charging stations for electric vehicles, taxi stands and auto rickshaws to bicycle parking, public toilets to public art spaces, cinema halls and religious facilities. Dholera provides a comprehensive range of education infrastructure, including early childhood education, Anganwadis, integrated schools and skills development centers.
Immediately upon construction, we envisaged a ‘Plug & Play’ approach where all the parcels of land would be fully ICT enabled, and fully developed infrastructure would be offered at plot level. In addition to enabling ease of doing business and holistic living, this will serve as the foundation for efficient operations and administration in all aspects of the city. It will be an underlying enabler in all areas of the city, integrating multiple essential disciplines, facilitating ease of do business and holistic living.
The G2B (Government to Business) interaction will be streamlined with a single window system that will reduce the number of procedures and approvals required for various aspects of the business.
There is a central Command and Control Center at Dholera that oversees safety and security, as well as merging city departments seamlessly to facilitate effective collaboration.
In order to serve the multi-faceted needs of businesses and industries, Dholera Industrial City focuses on multi-faceted infrastructure. In addition to creating jobs and enhancing opportunities, the construction of new social infrastructures will ensure that the employees and their families will have easy access to work as well as close housing.
In order to create a Live-Work-Play community, a hierarchy of functional open green spaces, such as neighborhood parks, community parks, linear parks, recreational & sports zones, shall be developed. Economically Weaker Section (EWS) housing has also been allotted a special zone.
WATER AND WASTE WATER SYSTEM
A zero waste discharge goal is achieved through the treatment of 100% of the wastewater generated in industrial and non-potable applications to tertiary standards. Losses have been minimized by implementing smart meters and SCA.
SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT
It is planned to collect 100% of solid waste as well as to recycle biodegradable solid waste for use as compost and for generating energy.
STORM WATER MANAGEMENT AND RAIN WATER HARVESTING
Rainwater harvesting systems have been implemented through open earthen canals, allowing irrigation water to be recharged and reused as stormwater runoff
POWER MANAGEMENT
An uninterrupted power supply is provided 24 hours a day. To minimize losses, smart grids, smart meters, and monitoring have been implemented. A number of policies have been implemented to generate renewable energy.
Dholera is highly focused on technology. It is anticipated that Dholera will be a next-generation city, implementing technology on a scale not seen in India before, with ICT enabled infrastructure, smart monitoring systems, public WiFi and many other innovations.
At Dholera, business and work are expected to flow smoothly due to systems and measures in place that will allow businesses and industries to receive approval for various aspects.
It offers good connectivity to India and the world. It is well connected to several important ports, three airports, the Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFC), and the MRTS and access controlled expressway that connects Ahmedabad.
The internal connectivity of Dholera and its connectivity with other systems has been carefully planned. In addition to its strategic location on DMIC, it is well connected to the rest of the state and provides easy access to other nodes in the region. Additionally, there will be an emphasis on walk-to-work culture and seamless access to various points.
